Heroes on the Water helps wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors. The primary goal of the program is to assist these injured service members with their physical and mental recovery by introducing them to the therapeutic qualities of fishing from kayaks. The program allows the participants a chance to decompress from the stresses associated with combat and the rigors of rehabilitation. Wounded veterans join the kayak fishing "band of brothers" on guided fishing trips held at various locations around the country.
Through the combined efforts of Cory Routh, Dean Thomas, Fil Spencer and Gary Loomis, Temple Fork Outfitters has designed 5 rods built specifically to benefit "Heroes on the Water." HOW rods are metallic blue with matching wraps and red tipping. The HOW logo is prominently displayed on the middle of the fire engine red split grip. A reduced fighting butt helps navigate the tight quarters and rod holders in your favorite kayak. TFO will make a donation to Heroes on the Water for every HOW rod that is sold through an authorized TFO dealer.
The Gary Loomis Series rods continue to impress new and experienced anglers alike. Gary has devised the perfect combination of new, high-tech materials to give these rods the optimum mix of power and sensitivity.
Gary's one-piece Signature rods are a rich motor oil with matching wraps highlighted by metallic copper tipping. The rods feature a skeletal grip made from premium and burl cork that is as durable as it is attractive. Signature rods incorporate TFO's color ID system to make sure you grab the correct rod when the action is hot.
